Chicken rice ball with roasted pork from Melaka

I am going through some old photos and found this photo of the chicken rice ball I ate in Melaka. I ordered the roasted pork with the rice balls instead of chicken meat. Now, I cannot even remember which year I went to Melaka because all I remember is I went for my niece wedding and she has just given birth to a baby boy. Therefore, it must have been more than a month.

Sigh…I wonder why rice ball is only limited to Melaka and never come to Penang? I like the novelty of picking up the rice ball with my chopstick and eat them without the fuss of using a spoon.

Other than that, chicken rice ball is actually quite oily. Oh have you seen them squatting at the back lane, next to the murky river of Melaka, scooping up the hot rice with their bare hands and forming them into balls? Yeah, I have seen that with my eyes. That makes the rice ball even tastier, with the sweat and all, you see. Hehehe.
