Christmas without the frills

At this time of the year, I would be up to my nose with things to do. Turkey to roast, main meals to prepare, house to clean and many other things. But the flu bug has completedly knocked me off and all I did in these past two days are lying in bed, nursing a headache and cold.

So, just to entertain myself, I shall just stare at the turkey I roasted in the previous years. Looks like I won’t get to eat any turkey this year because my sorethroat can only take soft foods.

I just read on the news that snow has came down heavy and thick on many of the European countries and they are getting a very white Christmas. For someone like me who has never seen snow, I think I will be so thrilled if I am there. How wonderful it is to be able to have a white Christmas instead of the hot, sunny days we are experiencing over here.

If only I have more moolah, I can be like the Americans in Paris who grab their travel deals at the last minute and paying much less than those who had planned for their holiday much earlier. Sometimes, it does pay to be late than early, isn’t it?

Over here right now, there are many delays in the US airport which was because of the weather. There are some who got stranded in the airport as long as 4 days just to go home for Xmas.

Raw turkey here in KL was so expensive to buy… almost RM29/kg!

But I guess once a year you can afford to splurge a bit.

Getting around in Paris is quite easy using the metro or bus passes. It is wise to purchase passes before you leave for vacation, you will save money. The passes include the Roissy Bus, which costs only $10.
