Dried strawberries

strawberry

I am not a fan of strawberries because those found locally are either:
Cheap = sour, small, not fresh

Expensive (cost about RM30) = huge, mouth watering but too expensive for me to indulge.

But these are Honey Dried Strawberry from Cameron Highlands. Taste like those pickles we ladies like so much. Sourish, sweetish, saltish and have very nice strawberry taste.

Cost RM10 for a big box (no weight stated on the box) and a tiny box. They will make good souveniers if you go to Cameron Highlands. I am sure your ladies colleagues and friends will enjoy them.

As for me, I still have a lot left-overs. Meaning I don’t particular like but have to eat them since I bought it.

You can always make muffins , cakes or pancakes out of them or puree them for shortcake or scones.

Strawberries..we can grow our own here..yea..but it’s hard to take care of it.
Normally the season will be around beginning of June.
Overhere, we can get 1lb for CND$3 dollars.
meaning Ringgit malaysia for 9 bucks.

i prefer the fresh ones, not pickled.

but yeah, the imported ones you get from supermarkets here are either overripe or underripe. & very overpriced.

i don’t like the camerons strawberries. sour ler.

Lynee – Cameron ones are real small too.

S-Kay – You mean blend, freeze and keep? Great idea.

    Gene – That’s cheap!

Romantic – We have imported ones from USA right now. Good idea on the baking. See if I can make a batch of muffin with them.

anjali – Hope you have a nice time.

Encountered those dried strawberries during our trip to CH last month. Found out they’re actually from China (!!!) repacked in CH! Duh.
