She looks so familiar to me so I told her I had met her somewhere before. That got us chatting and I remembered that she used to sell her handicrafts, from office to to office when I was working. She is a single mom and very, very enterprising.

We had hawker stalls with char koay teow, laksa, pasembur, mee mamak, ice kacang and lots more. Per head was RM18 but it is not inclusive of the roasted lamb. The lamb is about RM600+.

I met several ladies who are in their 70s and 60s and they are all so excited about the show. Now, they are making plans to go to Kuala Lumpur for the show. One of them asked me if I want to join them. Oh dear, no thanks. I cannot afford the ticket price and I am not a fan of Abba too. In fact, I have never been to any concert before.

Maybe I should start to enjoy life like those retirees who seem to have a lot of money, a lot of time and they certainly know how to enjoy life. Right now, I am very much tied down to bringing up kids so I have to stand on the side and look on forlornly.

Two nights ago, I had this bowl of venison and flat handmade noodle. It is like pan mee but the soup is boiled with some Chinese herbs and venison. Venison is deer meat and Chinese said it is awfully ‘heaty’. However, it is very tasty and is a cross between the gamey taste of beef and the tenderness of pork.

The bowl of hot, steaming noodle is perfect for cold rainy days. The noodle is garnished with black fungus and sabah vegetable.

My area too was flooded this morning and I couldn’t get out of my apartment grounds because the roads leading to my home is flooded. One of our car which was damaged in the previous floods is still at the mechanic shop so we are not taking any chances with the only car we have left.

With the holidays, we couldn’t go anywhere as well because it was our 7-seater that was damaged in the last flood. Now, we are left with only a small car and it is not enough to accomodate my whole family. How nice if we can afford an audi q7 so that I do not have to schedule my car usage hours with my son and husband. Three of us using one car is really difficult. Normally, my son will take the bike but with the rainy season, he needs the car.

So, with so much time at home and the cold weather due to the rain, all I can do is to eat and eat and eat.
