Goji berries aka happy berry makes wonderful soup
The above is a photo of goji berries with wintermelon. I love to boil this soup with either pork ribs or chicken. Goji berries make a wonderful addition to Chinese soup and Chinese has been using them for centuries. Many people said goji berries are helpful in keeping our eyes bright.
Beside being turned into soup, Chinese mothers also give goji berries to their little children, very much like how we have raisins. Goji berries are sweet and has a distinct taste which is very pleasant to the tastebuds. I too did bought some and washed them thoroughly. Then, I sun dried the goji berries and give them to my son as snacks.
However, with technology, one can now purchase the prepared goji berries supplement which is high in anti-oxidants. It will slow down ageing plus other health benefits. There is also goji berries juice which I am sure will be tasty as goji berries are sweet and has a pleasant taste.
Have you tried goji berries in other preparation other than cooking? Do you have any nice recipe for goji berries handed down from your parents or grandparents? Please do share them ‘cos the only way I know how to prepare goji berries is in cooking soup or putting them in steam dishes.
