Hongkong wantan mee with roasted pork

When I was in Hongkong for about three weeks on a stretch, the staples we ate were mostly wantan mee because it is the cheapest. Not really cheap as it costs HKD24 or about RM12 per person. Over there, their wantan mee only has basic things like a few strands of vegetables, few pieces of your choice of things, either wantan, char siew, roasted pork, roasted duck or whatever. There isn’t a combination like ours where we get char siew with wantan and vegetables.

So, I am always very appreciative of our country where a decent wantan mee only costs at most RM3.50 (over here in Penang) and you get wantan, char siew, pieces of chicken, crispy lard and vegetables plus mushrooms.

The above is from Northam Food Court. Not exactly tasty but the roasted pork certainly looks good in photo, isn’t it?
