On some days, I crave for sinfully oily roasted pork with crispy skin. I have been on vegetarian diet for the last 20 days and found it sinfully sinful to just look at pictures of the stuffs I am not eating at the moment.
This plate of roasted pork from Mr. Ho’s restaurant here in Penang is one of them. I had been storing yummylicious pork photos for a while and never posted them as I do not want my website to appear ‘offensive’ to my Muslim readers.
Therefore, the reason I revived this weblog is to just talk about pork and pig. I have lots of recipes too. If you are a regular reader of this blog and the extension of this blog, please surf over to MalaysiaBest. Over there, it is pork-free.
We know that it is not a healthy practice to eat fatty food like these three-layers pork. But sometimes, who can resist the crunch, the taste and the distinct flavour of oily meat? Many of our old folks still take a packet of chopped roasted pork and char siew they picked up from their regular butcher to their morning yumcha (dimsum) session inspite of the caution from their doctors. After all, you have one life, live it!
I must say that Mr. Ho’s here in Penang is way, way better than the outlets in KL because they are housed in this beautiful colonial building. Service is good too. But I do wish Mr. Ho will include more ‘non-meat’ menu because each visit made me feel terribly guilty as I gorged down too much un-healthy meats.Posted by lilian on March 20th, 2006 under Eating places, Food
