So, what do they serve in a SGD1,400 dinner?

I got a shock to hear that wedding dinner table for 10 pax costs SGD1,400. That is almost RM3K per table of 10 and hence, RM300 per person. I have never eaten a dinner that costs RM300 per person before.

Wow…must make mental note to remind my sons to just marry a local girl. Otherwise, I will go bankrupt financing the dinner alone.

The dinner is held in one of the posh hotel in Singapore and they have a waiter assigned to each table. Wine is free flow but I am not sure if it is included in the price.

The four season platter comprising of scallops, tiny abalone, seaweed and drunken chicken. I dare not take too many photos of the dishes on that night because it feels weird to act like a country bumpkin, snapping photos of all the foods. After taking photo of this dish, I kept my camera already.

The photo of the suckling pig was taken by my five years old boy. I told him that’s a little piggie lying on the plate. Piggie’s mommy cannot find piggie because we are eating it. LOL, I am a cruel mom, I know. So, he took a photo of it. And he happily enjoyed the crispy skin. Doh, what a cruel kid too.

And here’s the head of the piggie that cries ‘wee, wee, wee all the way home’ because my angpow to my nephew certainly did not cover the cost of the dinner I ate. What to do…it is so costly to travel from Penang to Singapore. So, I shall have to eat the dinner for free!

It is very expensive to hold a wedding in Singapore. If the youngsters have their say on their weddings they would rather spend the money on honeymoon. It is often the parents who insist on wedding dinner.
