St. Xavier Institution
This is not exactly a tourist spot but nevertheless, I love this school. ‘Cos two of my sons study there and I think it is one of the best school in Penang. I had observed the school administration and find their headmaster to be the coolest HM around. So, here goes…
A view of their beautiful garden:

And this statue of St. John the Baptist. This statue stands proud outside the school compound, gleaming in gold.

When one walked into the school, one can feel the ‘ancient’ atmosphere. You can almost see those old Christian brothers whom had left their homeland to come to our country to dedicate their life to educating the children here watching proudly how much the school has progressed. Their photos are hanged at one of the lobby, reminders of those olden times. History of the school can be found at the SXI website.

Congratulations to St Xavier’s Institution for winning the IIUM Inter-School Debating Championship last night, twice in a row. They breed excellent debaters (e.g. Karpal Singh).

Typical Frees not wanting to admit SXI is one of the best school’s around. Don’t make fun of SXI’s alumi’s. We don’t make fun of your swelled head.
I was there from Std 2 all the way to form 5. Loved every minute of it.

Never insult Christian Brother schools, coz they’ve got “kaki lang” all over from St. Joseph’s in Singapore to St. Michael’s in Ipoh; even the dreaded Lasallians to come “huut” you. But of course, St. John’s in KL (Fide Et Labore!!!) is the best!!!!!
