Actually there are not much to see around B Feringhi along walking distance.

I've had my share of playing tourist guide to my foreign counterparts.
Some of their favourite spot:-
1) Night time shopping along the Bt Feringhi night market=> be prepared for lots of haggling
2) Botanical gardens
3) Heritage trail => like what Lilian said
4) Batik factory
5) Round Penang island trip, fr Bt Ferr, up Teluk Bahang, to Balik Pulau => Bayan Lepas => Georgetown => B.Ferr.
It will give them myriads of view of beautiful Penang island.
If you are chartering a bus to go around, you can cover all the above within a day or half a day trip (depending on how many stops you like)

There are a few places. Right across rasa sayang, there is a palce call Mario's. Its italian. They serve good italian food, always packed. Pricey, but worth all the money.

Walk down the feringgi night market on the Rasa Sayang side and you will see a hawker food court. Most of the things there are so so.

Don't go to global Bay, the only thing nice there is the western food.

If they want seafood, Eden is a better place, don't go to The Ship.

If you don't mind the travel, go to teluk bahang for "End of the World" just beside the roundabout.

Tropical Spice Garden's a must-it's very close to mother nature! I like the spice trail where you can see the shrubs/trees of cloves, nutmeg, bunga kantan, etc and even tongkat ali the whole plant and all! After the walks (there are 2 trails...) i love to plop at their bungalow café... if you're lucky you an see some tree squirells or shy and cute,white-ringed eyes and long fluffy tail Dusky Leaf Monkeys/Dusky Langurs with with their youngs which has golden-orange fur compared to the dark grey adults ...

It's generally easier to please foreign tourists. They'll find most places of attraction fascinating even though we locals might find them BORING. Trust me, i've brought some foreigner friends around Penang a few times and i only bring them to common attractions and let them get involved with the typical Penang lifestyle and BINGO they love Penang and they will be coming back for more. However, time management is important if not you won't even get to complete the activities in 1 week.
